Our floating concrete docks, the stars of the 2026 Barcelona Boat Show at Marina Port Vell

This year, the Barcelona Boat Show is being held at Marina Port Vell, right in the heart of the city. For us, this is a special edition: one of the marina’s docks is equipped with the floating concrete pontoons that MSI – Marina System Ibérica manufactured in 2013.

Thirteen years after they were installed, these docks continue to serve the marina on a daily basis and are currently part of the setting for one of the Mediterranean’s major nautical events.

Floating and relocatable: a marina that adapts to the event

Organizing a boat show requires reorganizing the marina: exhibition areas must be set up, pathways for the public must be cleared, and moorings must be reserved for the boats on display.

Because they are floating structures, our docks can be easily relocated. The marina adapts their configuration to the needs of the trade show and restores them to their original state once the event is over, without any construction or permanent modifications.

Buoyancy and stability to accommodate thousands of visitors

During a boat show, the dock is no longer just a mooring spot; it becomes an exhibition space visited by thousands of people.

Thanks to concrete's excellent buoyancy and stability, MSI pontoons can safely support this number of visitors. Visitors can walk along them just as comfortably as if they were walking on solid ground.

Structural Strength for Long Boats

Large boats are the stars of any boat show and require the dock to have a much greater mooring capacity than usual.

The high structural strength of our concrete docks makes them ideal for mooring long boats. They absorb mooring forces and maintain their stability in the water.

The fact that infrastructure installed in 2013 continues to operate at the highest level—first in the marina’s day-to-day operations and now during an international event—is the best proof of what we have been advocating for more than three decades: well-designed concrete is synonymous with durability, safety, and versatility.
